To work as an LPN in Alberta, individuals must be registered and have a valid practice permit from the CLPNA.
To be registered with the CLPNA, you must complete an application and meet all necessary requirements in the Policy: Declarations and Registration Requirements. For more information, please see: Registration Information.

For applicants who have graduated from an approved program in Alberta and never held registration in another province.
Labour Mobility ApplicantsFor applicants who are currently registered in another Canadian jurisdiction.
Out of Province (New Graduates)For applicants who have completed a program outside of Alberta but have not written a registration exam.
Out of Province (Not Registered)For applicants who have completed a program outside of Alberta and have written a registration exam.
Internationally Educated NursesFor applicants who were educated and work outside of Canada.
Reinstatement (Previously Registered in Alberta)For applicants who were registered as an Alberta LPN and want to be registered again.
Courtesy RegistrationFor applicants registered in another Canadian jurisdiction practicing in Alberta for less than three months.
